Herod’s Family Tree

Below is a simplified family tree of Herod the Great.  It shows the descendants who appear on the pages of scripture,  including the four I have written about in the previous posts.

Here are links to my articles on Herod the Great;  Herod Antipas, also known as Herod the Tetrarch;  Herod Agrippa I;  and Herod Agrippa II.

  1. Thanks Pastor Glenn, this is very helpful. I didn’t realise that the political setting for Jesus’ birth was to give rise to a dynasty so close to the ones we see in Africa today.

  2. Kathy, Africa is a continent of 54 countries, with a wide variety of cultures. Though all are steeped in the sin of idolatry, they are so varied that your general sweep of African dynasty is not valid.
